Building better futures with Break goes mammoth in 2022

Our support of Break, a charity working with young people on the edge of care, in care and leaving care across East Anglia, was amongst the highlights of 2021 for our team. Bolstering our relationship with Break and the young people they support, we weren’t just building, we were ‘Breaking’…Breaking outta the barn that is. Creating our own fundraiser, our team raised money for the ‘Wild in Art’ Cows about Cambridge trail, proudly funding an incredible experience and supporting the auctioning of these moo-velous sculptures. We’ve supported the CoffeeBreak, a coffee van which is another part of their commitment to training young people for a better future. With 2022 now in focus, we’re committed to breaking out even more means to support Break across their brilliant work and support of young people.

With the ‘Building Futures’ programme focused on skills within the construction industry now firmly launched, our own commitment to Building better together extends to ‘Building Better Futures’ too. Industry insight, access to specialist materials and opportunities to experience construction projects in action, allow us to offer a unique perspective across our varied projects as part of the Better Futures initiative. Excess site materials continue to support hands on learning, with PPE also provided to keep students safe as they learn new skills.

We hope that we can keep connecting more of our clients and collaborators with the wonderful work Break does too, especially beyond construction. As a dedicated Norwich Alliance member headed up by Business in the Community, we’re proud to have connected our work across Norwich Alliance, Business in the Community and Break, fostering a valuable collaboration to keep building a more inclusive and supportive local community. In fact, some of our work with Break and our local community has been millions of years in the making…

It’s not every day that Pentaco gets to work with pre-historic clients, but here we are extending our support of a rather ‘Roarsome’ cause in 2022. Following the successes across 2021 installing 20 plinths for the GoGoDiscover trail, Pentaco are committed to giving our prehistoric partners more plinths to perch on providing 53 more plinths for T-Rex and Mammoths along the trail in 2022.

Inspired by our woolly companions, Pentaco have also considered ways we can make our support more…well more mammoth! Organising several future fundraising initiatives, we’ve got big plans to make a big difference in 2022, with a sleep out, fire walk and a mammoth cycle ride already planned into our fundraising efforts which we’re excited to share more information on soon, including of course how you can get involved. A big thank you already to our supply chain partner MKM, who have kindly collaborated with us on our sleep-out event and will be both participating and providing one of their depots to safely facilitate the event.

With a challenging year of change in 2021 behind us, Pentaco are humbled to look back on yesteryear and forward to 2022 at what we have and indeed hope to achieve for charity partners like Break. When it comes to Building a better future, of course it helps having a team of mammoths and T-Rex on your side…but we know it’s our team, clients and community that are truly stomping onward together into an exciting 2022.
