The Emery, Bishop’s Stortford
Pentaco Construction Ltd were engaged at the beginning of the concept to add experience and buildability to this existing development. Emery House is a grand old property, set peacefully within the privacy and seclusion of its own grounds, yet only minutes from the centre of Bishops Stortford. The property was originally built in 1866 on land originally known as Emery Fields; Emery House is a fine representation of a classical Victorian villa on a grand scale. The client’s vision was to retain Emery House itself, incorporating the original core of the house as the centrepiece of the scheme. To this were added two new wings, sensitively designed to appear subservient to the original façade. Using the same theme throughout, the footprint was expanded to provide a limited number of bespoke, spacious and elegant apartments. The result of which has created a collection of stylised residences that incorporate the very best of past and present.
